ACTS is a school with small classes designed to deliver practical training in an interactive format. Because of it’s size, it caters to the needs, and strengths of students, ensuring the knowledge of the fundamentals of chemical dependency. Our teaching staff has an average of 25 years’ experience in working and teaching in the substance abuse treatment field. Each instructor is a professional and has knowledge and expertise in the area in which he or she is teaching.
Our curriculum in current and evidenced based with special emphasis on the disease of chemical dependency, the core functions of a counselor, counseling techniques and chemical dependency and the family. A major aspect of the LCDC training is the participation of all students in the group experience. This approach allows experiential learning of group processes, group dynamics, and techniques, as well as the opportunity for personal growth and awareness.
Students are assisted by a staff knowledgeable in the licensure and certification process.
